52 people killed by pre-monsoon rainfall in Karnataka

On Tuesday, Siddaramaiah, the chief minister of Karnataka, stated that 52 deaths and property damage have been attributed to the state’s pre-monsoon rains so far.

He also urged officials to take prompt action. He claimed that stern punishment will be taken against officials who disregarded their obligations.

Tuesday, the CM presided over a video conference meeting with the CEOs of Zilla Panchayats and deputy commissioners from every district to discuss disaster management.

Pre-monsoons, which last from April through June, have already begun in some areas.

Pre-monsoon rainfall this year have been 10% above average. 52 individuals have so far lost their lives in this, 331 animal losses, 20,000 hectares of crops lost, and 814 homes have been damaged, Siddaramaiah said reporters following the meeting.
