Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, said on Wednesday that all families, regardless of monthly electricity consumption, would not be charged for the first 100 units of electricity.

Families who use more than 100 units of power per month will receive their first 100 units free of charge. They won’t have to pay any electricity charges for the first 100 units, regardless of how large the bill is, he tweeted.

According to the chief minister, the first 100 units of power would be free for middle-class consumers who use up to 200 units a month.

Additionally, he indicated that all fees for usage up to 200 units will be eliminated, including fixed fees, fuel surcharges, and other fees.

Sources claim that just electricity charges in the range of 100 to 200 units are required.

Gehlot announced the announcement in response to input from inflation relief camps where registration is being done for 10 programmes, including the free energy programme.
